Most of Monday was taken up with induction.
Tuesday morning was the last History lesson in which we were asked to present a topic from our culture. We were all hoping that Matt could manage to talk for 2hrs about the battle of Trafalgar but he only managed 45minutes, so we each had to deliver a presentation. Karin from Holland talked about the process involved in Horse Milk... yes Horse Milk. A farm which she has worked at over the summer holidays for the past few years. It proved very interesting. Anna taught us all about the past, present and future of aluminium extraction, which was more interesting than it sounds. I opted for "Burton Green - A typical English village" which was hopefully of interest particularly the history teacher.
In the afternoon, Eylon (a volunteer from Isreal) and I tried to fix some of the abandoned computers, some of which were beyond hope, but we have managed to get several to work.
We also had a meeting regarding the Youth Club which runs every Wednesday from 4-6 with a group of kids from 8-20. This mainly consisted of planning what would happen each week up until December.
After this we had a meeting regarding the new computers, their placement and use and the design of the interior of the new Internet room. This was a very productive meeting which resulted in a list of tasks that will hopefully carry us forward quickly.
We have learnt today that the Nigerian engineers which installed the satellite internet connection will be returning tomorrow to fix the connection. We have so far been very unimpressed with the service we have recieved but fingers crossed they can rectify the problem soon.
